PSA Pauses Value Tier Submissions - What This Means for Nostalgic Avenue Customers
We want to keep our customers informed about an important update from PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator) that will directly impact submission services here at Nostalgic Avenue.
What PSA Has Announced
On May 28, 2026, PSA announced a temporary pause on new submissions for four of its Value service tiers: Value Bulk, Value, Value Plus, and Value Max. This pause goes into effect on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
According to PSA, the decision comes after a significant surge in demand following their May 14 infrastructure announcement, which resulted in a 20% spike in submissions adding approximately 1.6 million cards to an active backlog now approaching 10 million cards. PSA states that their daily grading output is at an all-time high, with capacity up 5x since 2021, but that continuing to accept submissions at the current pace would compromise turnaround times for existing orders.
What Remains Open at PSA
The following PSA service tiers will remain fully active: Regular, Express, Super Express, Walk-Through, and all tiers above. PSA has also noted that estimated turnaround times for Regular service will be temporarily extended to 40–50 business days (50–60 days for dual-service authentication) due to the overall backlog impact.
When Will Value Tiers Reopen?
PSA has indicated this pause is tied to operational milestones rather than specific dates. Their stated goal is to reduce the backlog to 5 million units, which they currently project will take up to four months. PSA has committed to publishing a public Backlog Tracker on their website with monthly updates.
What This Means for Nostalgic Avenue
In alignment with PSA's announcement, Nostalgic Avenue will be stopping all Value tier submission intake temporarily. We want to be transparent with our customers ahead of time so you can plan accordingly. Any Value tier submissions already in our care or currently in transit will continue to be processed and submitted under the original service terms.
If you have questions about your current submissions or would like to discuss alternative service tiers, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We appreciate your continued support and will keep you updated as PSA provides further information on reopening timelines.
