Florida Collector Pulls 1/1 Ohtani Dual Gold Logoman, Sells for $10M+
The hobby's biggest chase of the summer is over. A collector in Boca Raton, Florida pulled a redemption for Shohei Ohtani's 1-of-1 Dual Gold Logoman Autograph from 2026 Topps Chrome Baseball, then flipped the hit for more than $10 million.
According to ESPN, the redemption came out of a hobby box at Boca Sports Cards. High-end collector Matthew Allen, also known online as shyne150, confirmed the purchase on Instagram: "To make it very clear, I paid over 10 million for the card." Allen is one of three principals of Secure Collectibles, alongside Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary and Paul Warshaw.
What Makes This Card Different
This is not a standard Superfractor or color match. The Dual Gold Logoman Autograph is built around two gold MLB logo patches from uniforms Ohtani wore after his back-to-back National League MVP seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2024 and 2025. Players who win MVP, Cy Young, or Rookie of the Year wear that gold logo the following season, so the patches are tied to specific award hardware rather than generic game-used material.
ESPN reports the patches came from:
- A road game in Baltimore on Sept. 7, 2025, when Ohtani hit two home runs
- A home game on April 12, 2026, when he also homered
Ohtani signed the card in both English and Kanji, a detail that widens the buyer pool across U.S. and Japanese markets. For a one-of-one already stacked with dual MVP season patches, the bilingual auto is another reason this piece sits in a different tier than most modern logoman cards.

Topps Chrome Baseball released on July 22, and the Ohtani Dual Gold Logoman immediately became a national hunt. Before the Boca Raton pull, Secure Collectibles floated a $6.5 million offer. Hong Kong-based Grade 10 then publicly posted a $10 million bounty, raising the floor for whoever found the redemption.
Allen later indicated Secure Collectibles still landed the card by paying more than $10 million, beating the public bounty in a private deal. Boca Sports Cards also confirmed the find on social media with images of the redemption slip. The actual Dual Gold Logoman still needs to be fulfilled through Topps' redemption process, which is standard for high-end inserts like this.
Ohtani's Card Market Keeps Climbing
This is the fifth million-dollar Ohtani sale since last December, and it more than triples his previous high. ESPN notes that a 2018 Bowman Chrome Superfractor graded BGS 9.5 sold privately for $3.365 million on July 14 through Fanatics Collect. Even mid-tier Ohtani rookies are moving: a 2018 Topps Chrome rookie autograph numbered to 50 recently sold for $136,640 after bringing about $40,870 in September 2025.
For collectors watching from outside the eight-figure lane, the takeaway is broader than one Florida pack rip. Award-season gold logoman cards, dual signatures, and true 1/1 scarcity are setting new comps that will ripple into Ohtani Refractors, rookie autos, and other MVP-era relics. When the market's ceiling jumps this fast, graded mid-tier pieces often reprice with it, even if they never touch seven figures.

2026 Topps Chrome also includes Dual Gold Logoman Autographs for Aaron Judge and Tarik Skubal, tied to back-to-back MVP and Cy Young seasons. Those cards will not match Ohtani's current heat dollar-for-dollar, but the bounty race around Ohtani shows how quickly a single redemption can turn a new release into a headline asset class.
